Whatcha got cookin'?

One of the things that American politics seems to be missing since Ronald Reagan is the idea of a statesman. Someone with forward vision about the appropriate role of government in society and the role of the United States in the world. In this election, Senator Obama talks like a statesman, but I can't tell if he is umming and uhhing his way to a politically comprimised position or if he really believes what he is saying. Senator McCain looks the part of a statesman, but doesn't seem to articulate any big picture concepts about the future.Read more
