WHAT MORE IS THERE TO BE SAID
Posted 8 weeks 4 days ago byWe didn't want the bail out, they passed it anyway and not only that fattened it up like a pig getting ready for a lu-out. But we know who the pigs really are now don't we and it was not the pig feed they were feeding us in this so called bail out. It went from bailing out Wall Street to just Bailing Out on us, the people. What happened to we the people, power of the people, our voices... did we ever have the power? Did we ever have a voice? Did we ever have a chance to be heard? Do we want to ever be heard? It is very depressing. After reading what TreeTopFlyer posted on the bail out, I sat here staring at his blog shaking my head in not so much disbelief, but almost left with a feeling of complete and utter powerless. A confirmation that we are powerless to a system that does not work, that has a mind of it's own. Isn't government suppose to govern the people. Instead, I feel imprisioned. They all got what they wanted, but what did we get? What did we get? What more can be said. If I sound out of sorts, well I am. I am damn pissed off that it doesn't go both ways. It is the government against us. IF we tried to do something like that they would call it embezzlement. They do it, it's called a bail out. Any comments from RBA?

Right
Submitted on October 7th, 2008 by Anonymousit cannot be law unless the 2 branches of the legislature put their lipstick on it. makes my point Bush cannot pass any law by himself. he ca veto anything the leg's. send to him and they can override his veto. but the POTUS cannot pass anythiing on heis own if the leg's vote no he cnnot veto thier no.
Actually, the president only
Submitted on October 6th, 2008 by BeoActually, the president only proposes a law, then the 2 branches of the legislature put their lipstick on it. When they are done adding all their secret pork barrel spending, then it is sent to the President for his signature. Even if he vetoes it, the legislature can override the veto and the bill becomes law. ALso, the president is not the only one who proposes bills. Some are presented by members of Congress themselves.

Submitted on October 6th, 2008 by AnonymousDid you forget or maybe you never knew. The POTUS cannot make or pass law of any kind without approval from the legislative branches of our government. I agree with Ham and the rest of them what you just wrote really shows your lack of knowledge of how our government is supposed to work, not that is working they way it is supposed to however, blaming the entire economic mess on Bush McCain is way off base and not even close to the facts.
Bush ain't blameless
Submitted on October 6th, 2008 by rom12921for sure, but seems you are buying the Barney Frank (do not type f*g, post lost forever) bogus blame of Bush and capitalism.
Democrats are neck deep in this mess and IMO share as much if not more of the blame for encouraging riskier loans.
Why would you post a thought about financial mess and not once mention Dodd, Raines, Frank or the #1 recipient of Fannie Mae $, Sen Obama?

You know what Kevin
Submitted on October 5th, 2008 by HamiltonForget proving anything, you've never let a silly thing like facts get in your way of preaching liberal secular propaganda. Your Messiah will be proud. Maybe you will earn a free stay at one of the Obama training camps.

Submitted on October 5th, 2008 by BeoYou really need to do some research on this topic. Both Bush and McCain tried to reel in the sub prime mortgages, but the Democrats, lead by oinka Frank, refused to allow any restrictions on who the banks could lend to. Their pet ACORN group, led by Obama, insisted that reasonable guidelines like a down payment, credit check, and job verification be disallowed. They picketed banks and labeled them racist when they bucked some of the trends of lending to welfare recipients and others who had no point of real income (like drug dealers). There is plenty of blame to go around, but the liberals are the real culprits. They tried to create Utopia where everyone who resided in a house deserved to own that house, regardless of ability to pay. Now we are all losing our shirts. The liberals refused, REFUSED to listen to experts who were sounding the warning bell on these mortgages given to people who did not deserve to have them. Incidentally, since most of these people put no money down, they had nothing NOTHING to lose financially by walking away. SOme of them went back to their homelands since it was not a requirement to be a citizen to acquire these mortgages. maybe when you lose your job, you will be more inclined to find the true answers to this debacle and not just point to conservatives. By the way, I am a Democrat, but the Democrats have lost their collective minds when it comes to leadership. Obama: a lying, manipulating, phony, America hating, self promoting neophyte.

Submitted on October 5th, 2008 by HamiltonI like you brother, and as far as I'm concerned you are a great part of this RBA family. That said, your response is the dumbest thing I've ever read. Trying to lay this meltdown at the feet of Bush is a out right lie, but to add McCain names by general theology is pitiful. Even for you. How about you do this...prove it.

Holier than thou now
Submitted on October 5th, 2008 by kevinkindEveryone who supported Bush, McCain now and in the past are acting as if their past support has nothing at all to do with the shape our economy is now in.
Bush, McCain set the rules that our economy has been using for at least the past eight years. These are the rules that caused our economy to fail.
It is Bush's bailout plan that was voted on. It is the Bush, McCain economy that has failed. Now you all want to act holier than thou and claim to be against it all, When after all it was your support of Bush, McCain policies that has caused our nation to fall.
There is an answer
Submitted on October 5th, 2008 by TreeTopFlyerI, like everyone, am fed up. This election year is probably responsible for the most drastic increase in blood pressure medication ever.
BUT, there is a silver lining to all this. We have an election in less than a month. We have the names of all the people that need to go. And we have the wonderful invention of the internet.
How many people have received the E-mails about so-as-so is dying of cancer and if you do this it will all be fine? Everyone. Now, imagine if everyone with a computer got an E-mail with the names of those that voted against the will of the people and, more importantly, those that were bought off with rum. We can make a difference and send a message.
WE THE PEOPLE have the power to do this. If every single congressman and senator who voted for this bill were ousted in November, don't you think many of the others would wake up?
That is how it starts and that is what we have to do.
OINK !

Submitted on October 4th, 2008 by HamiltonI’m there to, a feeling that makes it hard to enjoy the simple, important things in life. I have always loved politics and I’ve always had heroes’ and villains to talk about and write about; now there are just villains. It could have been just wishful thinking all those years; dreaming of an ideal, you know…justice, right, honor, patriotism and a shared feeling of country between us and them. Them being those we elected to be our voice, those we picked to practice our ideology for the betterment of the country. I know now that I never really understood the massive amount of money and greed involved in running, or pretending to run this country. I think it’s just about power, money and keeping us ignorant of everything except an occasional fabricated crisis to divert us from the fact that they own us and makes us believe we are in charge. I’m sorry Skye, I’m feeling a little…depressed since the bailout. After-all I’ve been arguing hard for years against those that tried to tell me the truth. I believed in the dream that was this country being what our founders thought and wanted it to be…life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Anyway; I really am very sad because I truly believe the only thing to save this country will cost hundreds of thousands of lives in open armed conflict in the streets of our neighborhoods. I’m sounding like one of those conspiracy nuts. But then that’s how I’m feeling.

I feel your pain. I'll tell
Submitted on October 4th, 2008 by BeoI feel your pain. I'll tell you what we got. We got screwed over. You have just been a participant in the conversion to socialism. Guess the failure of USSR and Cuba doesn't impact these people.
I still think it is a conspiracy of foreign investors who manipulated the market in order to effect our election. I wish I could offer you words of encouragement, but I myself, have moved from anger to total disbelief and worry. I have not yet moved to despair.
