Open Blog - feel free to say anything
Posted 9 weeks 5 days ago byWell I am totally drained and exhausted by all the crazy noise of recent days. As Konstantin might say I've been media "usurped" and my head has been pumped full of "apararatchik" toxins. So, I will just go do some things physical and get some fresh air (yes it still exists). I've been up on the roof doing maintenance to prevent the leaks that were bad for me last Winter. At least it is something that I CAN actually do. There is just too much rotten news at the moment for me to take on more or try to offer political thoughts.
So, I leave this here as a place-marker and as as opportunity to for you to just place any random thoughts and emotions. That's all. open .....

So the whole world agrees...
Submitted on September 26th, 2008 by TreeTopFlyermaybe this is the way to do it. We can sit around with boat drinks - luckily for skye there are no rules in "St. Somewhere" so I can put a umbrella in her White Russian and call it a boat drink - grilling our favorite protein power food (as Uncle Ted would say) and, in the midst of building something unnecessary (but fun), we can solve the problems of the world.
Ham, even a kickin' tea (sweet or otherwise) can be a boat drink when it's "five o'clock somewhere."
Have a great weekend all.
Well
Submitted on September 26th, 2008 by DCook36I don't know any of you as well as you seem to know each other however I feel the same about having had too much of this election and the bailout ect.... I think the length of time of these elections should and could be cut in half. So with that having been said see you all around and good weekends to you all.

Submitted on September 26th, 2008 by REEDDARRELLOf the house,my week ends are Tue.Wed.Thur.actually they are my other halfs days off as I'm retired on disability, she works in a casino as I did I was a dealer she's a food service supervisor.Sorry I got off the point,we are taking a few days and going up the great river road along the Mississippi River on the Iowa side. Also will probably go up the Wisconsin side,to see the foliage change colors,I highly recommend it if you live fairly close to the Mississippi River. We live about 150 miles west of the river in central Iowa. The high price of fuel for the motor-home will keep our trip to only four or so days, but the country side in the fall is well worth it.I hope to make it to New England in a couple of years,I'm getting anxious for the 6th of Oct.Just me Dottie and gus the dog,gus is never happy to go camping,as when we are getting ready he hides.
sorry for rambling, its just nice to talk to you guys about our lives instead politics, even though I love it.
Hi All
Submitted on September 26th, 2008 by AnonymousI hear ya. Between the wife's family, income pursuit, this political bedlam and the desire to voice my point of view, I feel like everythings spinning outside my hampster-wheel's reach.
I wish I had more time to read everybody else's stuff and post replies - but I can't keep up with much right now.
Fret not though, about our nation and the world. I had a dream last night that the collective frustration and psychic whirlwind caused by terms like "700 billion dollars", generated an electromagnetic field strong enough to reach the space aliens who were just shopping at the galaxtic 7-11 outside our milkyway. They promptly visited to see what's up...and the whole world changed completely.
Change is coming Mr. Obama...FROM OUTER SPACE!!!
John, you big sap
Submitted on September 26th, 2008 by Grains of Saltlove you too (and all!).
I think we all need some boat drinks. Ham - you're driving us all home, right?
Have a great weekend.

Submitted on September 26th, 2008 by HamiltonBrother, I feel you, What to do, I had to take a break last weekend. I didn't think about you guys (that means you to Lady) for a couple of days. I ate more than I should have, in fact I went to Hooters twice in one weekend...man I love those wings. I went to a game and watched another half dozen on the tube. No politics, no time all weekend. GOS ask me if I had gotten a life...yea and it was fun for a couple of days; made me feel better. Now I'm scared; not for me so much, but what are my kids going to do? Oh well...guess we'll see. Wish I still drank..lol

Submitted on September 26th, 2008 by John 2000I saw the last part of the Oregon State v USC game last evening where USC was favored by 28 and lost.
Will the Cubs win the World Series? It's been 100 years now.
... and I hoist a toast to Tampa Bay. Who saw that coming?
yeah, sports are good. I never have gotten into the fantasy though I'm sure it is fun.
Anyone here ever listen to Chopin with the cable news sound turned down? Try it; it's a real trip! I read a byline where the WaMu CEO of 17 days walked with $20,000,000. Open the pod bay door, Hal. I can't do that Dave.
Boat drinks with all of you would be such a great thing.
Man it was hot on the roof today. Well, time to cut up a chicken and stoke up the barbecue. Simple pleasures is where it's at.
I just want to say additionally that I love you all.
ps Skye. I read the blog that you deleted. I understood your reason. It was good ... but I understood. You are aces. I hope that you are feeling better. Time to keep all of our fingers crossed and/or pray.
Well
Submitted on September 26th, 2008 by Skye RiversI just watched a hilarious movie National Lampoons Christmas Holiday......... so funny.........! Pass me a White Russian Tree if you don't mind........... (is that a boat drink?) As far as going outside, I am off to the back to check on my baby donkey and mini horses. That is pure joy!
Know what you mean
Submitted on September 26th, 2008 by TreeTopFlyerJohn, isn't it great to just go outside and build/fix something, no matter how small. Something to put effort into and see the results.
A couple months ago I built my son a little tree fort in the back yard. Even put in a sky-light for Aurora viewing. They have been out lately.
In "Times Like These" I usually listen to a mix of Jimmy Buffett and Jack Johnson and take a little mental vacation to "St. Somewhere" on the "Coast of somewhere beautiful" because everyone needs their own "Salty Piece of Land" to "Sleep Through the Static."
Boat Drinks anyone?
I hear ya
Submitted on September 26th, 2008 by Grains of SaltI've got Palmer and Campbell in my Fantasy football league. I was going to start Palmer since he plays the Browns but I just read that he has a sore elbow. Now I don't know what to do. But, hey - it's Friday!
I feel YOUR pain
Submitted on September 26th, 2008 by Skye RiversI feel the same way you do. I have been blogging then deleting........ I am politicly burnt out and feel helpless to a system that is non existent to the American people. WE say NO, they say, TOO BAD, do it anyway. Now we are facing being stuck with a 700 Billion Dollar Bail Out, and the CEO's that caused it, continue to sail away in their yachts while drinking champayne on my dime.
