Whatcha got cookin'?

Someone with forward vision about the appropriate role of government in society and the role of the United States in the world. In this election, Senator Obama talks like a statesman, but I can't tell if he is umming and uhhing his way to a politically comprimised position or if he really believes what he is saying. Senator McCain looks the part of a statesman, but doesn't seem to articulate any big picture concepts about the future. Maybe McCain and Rangel should buy some green bananas and start looking beyond the next election.
So, with no statesman to choose from, we have a limited menu.
In reviewing the menu, I really like a few ingredients of the dinner with the big print. However, the more I think about it, it sounds like I really don't know what I'll get. How could one good meal provide a solution for all my hunger, ills and needs? Sounds like big promises that are destined to lead to heartburn and heartache.
One item on the cover of the menu looks great. Although it's only an appetizer, it sounds delicious and don't really know if it will be good or not, but very appropriate for the cover. There's also a side dish that looks appealing but it's really so irrelevent. Why order an expensive ho-hum entree just for an insignificant side dish.
I'm not sure any entree from the Socialist Cafe will do what the menu claims. Completely ineffective at satisfying my hunger for smaller and sensible government.
Thus, Hence, Therefore and hereto, I have been leaning toward the ultimate in apathetic shallowness in directing my vote. Just voting for the appetizer (Sarah Palin) and side dish (Cindy McCain) that are the best looking. Pathetic isn't it.
