Topic of the Day: Who writes McCain's speeches?
Posted 13 weeks 6 days ago byThat honor belongs to...
CQ reports that McCain's speech on Georgia includes several passages that look similar to the Wikipedia page on the nation.
What does it say about the McCain campaign that he's allegedly cribbing material from WIkipedia?

Thoughts
So what
Submitted on August 12th, 2008 by AnonymousWho cares and why does it matter where McCain gets his info so long as it is accurate, correct and up to date
His speeches do not sound like anybody else’s speeches unlike Obama whom as it has been said sound lot like JFK or MLK I agree his speeches do sound to much like JFK & MLK.
Like Hamilton has said is this the best they can come up with? “Give me a break.”ate? His speeches do not sound like
McCain doesn't need to plagiarize; he knows his stuff
Submitted on August 12th, 2008 by BeoWho is to say that Wikipedia did not take its info from McCain. Obama's speeches reek of plagiarism. "Just Words" is only one of them. Many of his speeches have the ring of former Kennedy speeches with some slight adjusting of verbiage. The syntax is similar. The same goes for MLK past speeches. In fact, don't you just love it when Obama takes on a Southern accent when he imitates MLK? Interesting from a guy who supposedly is from the midwest and Hawaii.
Maybe Obama

Working hard for a story!
Submitted on August 12th, 2008 by HamiltonWow, that’s a reach for a scandal; is that the best the MSM can do to deflect the sissy comments coming from Hawaii concerning the Russian invasion of Georgia? I can’t wait until the Daily Kost and Moveon start calling the invasion a plot orchestrated by Bush/Chaney and their find Vladimir to make the Messiah look weak on foreign policy.

rather pointless, lame, and self-defeating
Submitted on August 12th, 2008 by John 2000what is wikipedia itself but regurgitated liftings from history or news that is usually readily available elsewhere?
The fact is that McCain really is very knowledgeable about Georgia and has met with it's president and many many others personally over a number of years; whereas Obama is a neophyte in all such matters.
It is true that McCain's comments do seem a little stilted in this case. After all, such comments need to be limited in length while conveying some essentials. I wonder how many Americans can today even readily locate Georgia on a map!
It in no way compares to the unattributed 'Just Words' political pontification of Obama last Spring, from which he gained a lot of political capital ... and so many others.
I don't think you really want to go there with this argument.
{jokingly} did you verify that wikipedia was not updated from McCain's comments?
