Topic of the Day: Why Obama should hit back harder
Posted 16 weeks 6 days ago byObama needs to respond to McCain's Paris Hilton advertisement because it casts the Democratic presidential candidate as an outsider. That's New York Sen. Chuck Schumer's view.
"I would answer back hard. What do you mean he's not one of us? It's John McCain who wears $500 shoes, has six houses, and comes from one of the richest families in his state," Schumer said. "It's Barack Obama who climbed up the hard way, and that's why he wants middle-class tax cuts and better schools for our kids."
How should Obama have responded to the ad? Do you agree that it makes him look like an outsider?

Because Obama earned since being a Senator 3 times more money than McCain.
Yea McCain has lots of stuff. But then again, he married money!
So if they attack McCain for marrying a rich woman, then it opens up all sorts of problems for Obama and his wife. After all, Obama is trying hard to keep the spotlight off his wife and her Racist past where she promoted Black liberation theology and the fact she was part of the Black Panthers as an active member. So what that McCain's wife has more money than he does and is the reason why they have lots of stuff.
As for McCain owning $500 shoes, big deal. Obama owns $300 shoes. Does that mean that McCain does not shop for better bargans than Obama?
Why not go look at some tennis shoes. I saw a pair yesterday at footlocker in the mall that had a price tag of $269.99.
I have been guilty of buying something out of necessity that some people would think is outrageous. I bought some sunglasses that looked good on me for $390 in Europe after my $30 pair broke.
So McCain like custom shoes big deal!
Its not like its something totally out of character for people in his income class.
Obama bought a suit recently in New York for $7500. No one said anything about his custom fitting suit that was custom made for him. Its considered the norm for most Politicians to do that.
I bought a $1200 one does that mean I am out of bounds? No it just means I wanted a better fit than off the rack.
Its stuff like this that is more ridiculous to me. If anything, Obama looks more like a common insider politician than an outsider.
Thus Obama own actions prevent him from disputing it because to do so would open a pandora's box for him.
