The Tortoise And The Hare.
Posted 10 weeks 6 days ago byAs Obama acts out a new role as Holy Roman Emperor at the Brandenburg gate, back in this country where the actual election takes place, a funny thing has happened. McCain is leading in Ohio.
You would think that a Rasmussen poll released yesterday showing McCain with a ten point lead in arguably the most important electoral state in the nation would be cause for at least a mention on the news channels. I understand. The secular second coming was giving his version of sermon on the mount in the middle east. A pharisee such as myself should not be concerned with polls while the master is teaching.
Call me an agnostic.
Apparently there are other Jews and Gentiles in this country who question the miracles attributed to Obama by the main stream media. Some prefer the shortcomings of proven warrior and statesman to the secular infalibility of a false prophet...from Chicago.
While the New York elite continue to snicker and humiliate instead of illustrating legitimate polemics, McCain is demonstrating perhaps his least reported attribute. Patience. Can you guess where he learned that from? Oh..I'm sorry, I forgot, Ariana Huffington told me this does not qualify him to be president, so I won't mention it.
About a year ago, McCain was in the single digits among primary voters. Damn the torpedos, he conducted 101 town hall meetings in the state of New Hampshire, one more than in 2000. The old man wore the competition out. The military calls it victory through attrition. Obama better take heed.
Sometimes the tortoise wins, usually because he doesn't stop, no matter what. Sometimes the hare looses, usually because he doesn't stop looking at himself in the mirror.
The media has all the mirrors he wants.

Funny!

Impressive!
Submitted on July 23rd, 2008 by HamiltonI hope and pray this is a prophetic piece of writing. He is a “construct” a creation of far left liberal dreams. A culmination of decades of focus groups and think tanks and millions upon millions of dollars spent. He was once upon a time, a good guy, then he meets his angry activist wife and she introduced him to his future and the people who have framed his destiny.
John McCain is not a conservative, but as pointed out by Charles, he is a Warrior and what the country needs right now is a person to fight for us and our vey way of life.

Some could translate to 45-50% of electorate?
McCain can't help his height (shortcomings)or his age.
One correction ...
Submitted on July 22nd, 2008 by John 2000It will not be at Brandenburg Gate. Someone had the decency to stop that from occurring.
"The decision to choose the Victory Column, a 226-foot pillar topped by a gold angel, has itself opened up a small controversy, with some politicians complaining that the site recalls Germany's Nazi past and Prussia's militaristic tradition.
The monument was built in 1864 to commemorate Prussia's victory over Denmark. It was later moved by Adolf Hitler from its site near to Reichstag to its current position about one mile west in the middle of the Tiergarten park.
But many Berliners today probably associate it more with having a good time, since for years it was the destination of the Love Parade techno party. It is also where Berlin's gay and lesbian pride event, Christopher Street Day, is held.
It's the party link that is more likely going through German minds for the event this Thursday. Huge crowds are expected, especially since the speech is being likened by many to John F. Kennedy's famous "Ich bin ein Berliner" performance in 1963.
Several hundred city police officers will be on duty for the event, but estimates on the number of people expected to come listen to Obama are hard to come by. The Tagesspiegel daily quotes an official as saying the city expects between "10,000 and one million."

You just gotta love the tackiness of the label "JUDGMENT TO LEAD" at the top of the dais in the top photo in the article.
This great moment is to be on Thursday so we better get up early to watch the rock star hare dazzle.
I also like the quiet humility and inner confidence of the tortoise.
