Is Sen. McCain the ultimate Flip-Flopper ?
Posted 29 weeks 5 days ago byThe list is extensive, and because of his long political career getting longer and more problematic for him by the minute.
Senator Mc Cain has painted himself as a " maverick " riding the " straight talk express ". However, it is not the case. It feels more that Sen. McCain goes with the permanent changing wind of political circumstances with no regard for his own original priciples.
It does not give, in any case, the indication of a steady character and of an ability to stay cool under pressure.
This is a partial list of Sen. McCain flip-flops:
1-Sen. McCain used to say of Jerry Falwell and Hagee that they were " agents of intolerance " (2002), but now he cozy up to them for part of the Evangelists vote. To read my blog about the flip-flop on Pastor Hagee go to: http://redblueamerica.com/blog/2008-04-21/will-mccain-flip-flop-his-hagees-endorsement-2889
2-Sen.McCain used to oppose President Bush's tax cuts for the wealthy ,but now he is for them.
3-Sen. McCain supported the campain finance reform measure ( the Mc.Cain & Feingold bill) but in June he stopped pushing the bill.
4- Sen.McCain was both for and against state promotion of the Confederate flag.
5- Sen. McCain is for and against overturning Roe versus Wade.
6-Sen.McCain was anti-ethanol, now he is pro-ethanol ( Iowa's farmers anybody?). To read my blog about the flip-flop on ethanol go to: http://redblueamerica.com/blog/2008-04-23/food-crisis-senator-mccain-has-flip-flopped-ethanol-2975
7-Sen.McCain also changed his tune on yet another of his own bill: The (good) immigration bill ( McCain/Kennedy bill) when he realized that most GOP's voters were against it.

If this is the absolute worst of John McCain, then he is doing just fine.
